CFO of the Year
Since 2009, FINANCE Emerging Europe awards the "CFO of the Year" to an outstanding CFO from the region who has stood out in managing his or her company's financials. In a wider sense, the award gives international and public recognition to the excellent work financial executives in emerging Europe are doing. It is awarded in a secret and competitive vote by the Advisory Board of FINANCE Emerging Europe and the Lead Sponsors of the CFO Summit Emerging Europe & CIS.

CFO of the Year 2011:

Giacomo Baizini, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and CFO , EVRAZ Group S.A., Russia
Born in 1970. Mr Baizini is responsible for finance, treasury, controlling, reporting, IR, taxation, insurance, legal matters and IT. Before taking over as CFO in July 2009 he was responsible for business development in Asia-Pacific, sales and operations planning and coordinating aspects of international integration.
Between 1998 and 2005, Mr Baizini was a consultant with McKinsey's Milan and Tokyo offices where his principal focus was on electric utilities. He also co-led the successful development of McKinsey’s IT consulting arm in Japan.
From 1994 to 1998 Mr Baizini was a consultant with JMAC, Japanese consulting firm, where he specialised in cost reduction and operational efficiency programmes in relation to both manufacturing and service industries.
Mr Baizini holds a degree in Physics from Oxford University.

CFO of the Year 2010:

Viktoria B. Kapelyushnaya, Chief Financial Officer, MHP (Myronivsky Hliboproduct), Ukraine
Ms Kapeliushna, who is also Financial Director of JSC MHP, joined MHP in 1998 and was elected to the board in 2006. She was previously Deputy Chief Accountant, then Chief Accountant, of BCFI. She holds diplomas in meat processing engineering, 1992, and financial auditing, 1998, from the Kiev Institute of Food Industry.

CFO of the Year 2009:

Haluk Dortluoglu, CFO, BIM, Turkey
Haluk Dortluoglu graduated “magna cum laude” from Bogazici University in 1995. His first job was with former accounting firm Arthur Andersen where he stayed until 2002. When the company collapsed, he was hired by Ernst & Young. Only a year later, he received a job offer from Turkish Airlines to head their accounting department. In 2005, Mr Dortluoglu joined BIM as CFO and was appointed to its operation committee a year later. From 2010 on, he will be part of the executive committee replacing the current CEO of BIM.
